Marquetry Wall Clocks

Marquetry, the exquisite art of wood inlay, is vividly brought to life in the original works of Jefferson Adshead. Each piece reflects a unique craftsmanship that showcases the beauty of a variety of hardwoods, allowing the natural grains and colors to shine through without the use of paint.

The process of creating a beautifully crafted piece begins with cutting the design precisely, ensuring each element fits together like a carefully assembled puzzle. Once all the pieces are meticulously arranged, Jefferson glues onto a sturdy substrate, then sands them gradually up to 320 grit. Finally, to protect and enrich the surface, a coat of natural oil is applied, giving the finished work a warm, inviting sheen. The piece is then framed or bordered, again using natural wood materials. This multi-step process ultimately results in a unique and beautiful creation, showcasing both craftsmanship and artistry.
