Marquetry, the exquisite art of wood inlay, is vividly brought to life in the original works of Jefferson Adshead. Each piece reflects a unique craftsmanship that showcases the beauty of a variety of hardwoods, allowing the natural grains and colors to shine through without the use of paint.

The process of creating a beautifully crafted piece begins with cutting the design precisely, ensuring each element fits together like a carefully assembled puzzle. Once all the pieces are meticulously arranged, they are glued onto a sturdy substrate, forming the foundation of the final product. After the glue has set, Jefferson turns and sands them on a lathe. Finally, to protect and enrich the surface, a coat of water-resistant polyurethane is applied, giving the finished work a warm, inviting sheen. This multi-step process ultimately results in a unique and beautiful creation, showcasing both craftsmanship and artistry.

NOTE: Each piece is one-of-a-kind - the types of wood used varies and the piece may not look exactly as pictured. Each piece stands out with great natural color and contrast and Orcas and Eagles will always be ebony with white holly or maple.
